About
I’ve spent the last sixteen years at the Schick plant in Milford, CT — ten of those as a mechanic before moving onto the presses as a component stamping operator. On the presses, I run high-volume production and keep my numbers.
Outside work, I’m the guy in the house who fixes, automates, and builds everything:
- Home Assistant runs the whole house — Ecobee, Govee lights, UniFi cameras, and a zone-based UniFi firewall.
- I’ve built my own Zigbee network (Zigbee2MQTT + PoE coordinator on an ESP32/CC2652P), complete with mesh diagnostics and LQI tuning, and I’m currently finishing a set of DIY mmWave presence sensors for the whole house at less than $100 all-in.
- ESP32 projects big and small: LED wall art, an IR-blaster for the rope lights, fridge and freezer temperature monitors, a smart-lock integration so the door unlocks when I arrive.
- I also run my own self-hosted box — including a personal AI agent — with scheduled jobs, proper backups and recovery (battle-tested after recovering from a database corruption).
When I’m not soldering, I’m listening to hardcore (Death Threat, 100 Demons, Hope Conspiracy) and drop-C metal on an ESP LTD MH-1000, and watching horror movies.
